The HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP 4303dw colour laser printer is a wireless-enabled A4 multifunction device built for workteams of up to ten users who need fast colour output alongside copy and scan from a single compact unit. Considerations
No Fax — Print, Copy, Scan Only
- Fax Not Supported: The 4303dw does not include fax capability. Teams that send or receive faxes as part of their document workflow should instead consider the HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP 4303fdn (wired) or the HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP 4303fdw (wireless), both of which include full fax at 33.6 kbps with 500-page memory and 100 speed-dial numbers.
No Duplex ADF Scanning
- ADF Scans Single-Sided Only: Unlike the 4303fdn and 4303fdw, the 4303dw does not support duplex ADF scanning. Scanning a double-sided document requires either flipping pages manually for a second ADF pass, or using the flatbed for individual pages. Teams that regularly digitise high volumes of two-sided documents should note this limitation carefully before purchasing.
Toner, Output Capacity, and Footprint
- Introductory Colour Toners Are Low-Yield: Starter colour cartridges supply approximately 1,000 pages each for cyan, magenta, and yellow. Teams with immediate high-volume colour requirements should budget for HP 230X high-yield colour cartridges (~5,500 pages each) as a first replacement purchase.
- Colour Toner Depletes Faster Than Black: At equivalent print volumes, colour channels consume toner roughly three times faster than the black cartridge. Monitoring individual colour levels prevents unexpected supply gaps during busy periods.

macOS Compatibility
- Extended macOS Support on Updated Datasheets: A newer datasheet revision lists macOS 13 Ventura and macOS 15 as compatible — broader than the 4303fdn and 4303fdw, which top out at macOS 12 Monterey.
