Use Cases
Shared Wireless Printing for Small Workteams
Teams of up to 7 users connect wirelessly over the dual-band 802.11b/g/n network without running cables to the printer. The 5 GHz band supports speeds up to 150 Mbps versus 72.2 Mbps on 2.4 GHz, which consequently reduces wireless congestion in offices where multiple devices share the same network. Ethernet remains available as a fallback for wired workstations.
Daily Document Scanning and Distribution
The 50-sheet ADF handles multi-page originals for unattended batch scanning at up to 19 ppm (b&w). Scanned files save as PDF, PDF/A, JPG, TIFF, or XPS. Furthermore, scan-to-email and scan-to-folder destinations are configurable via the HP Smart app, enabling direct distribution without routing through a desktop PC.
Automatic Duplex Printing for Paper Efficiency
Teams printing internal reports, policy documents, or multi-page correspondence benefit from default automatic duplex output, which halves paper consumption on two-sided jobs. Additionally, the booklet printing option in the driver reduces manual collation steps for longer documents.
Mobile and Remote Workforce Printing
Staff working away from their desks — or across multiple floors — can release jobs at any compatible HP printer on the network using HP ROAM for Business pull-printing. The HP Smart app additionally supports Print Anywhere, allowing jobs to be sent remotely and collected when the user returns to the office.
Fax-Dependent Compliance Environments
Legal, financial, and administrative offices that maintain fax workflows can store up to 500 pages of fax memory and dial from up to 200 stored speed-dial entries. For offices transitioning away from physical fax lines, the HP Smart app supports digital fax sending, though advanced features may require an HP Smart subscription after an initial period.
